SSL certificate checker

Check a site's SSL certificate: who issued it, which names it covers, whether browsers trust it, and how many days are left before it expires. Free, no sign-up.

Free, no sign-up. One check per minute - results in a few seconds.

Know 30 days before the certificate does.

Barkme re-checks every certificate on your verified domains daily and warns you 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before it expires, by email, Slack or Telegram. Free plan included.

What we check

Every check, and why it matters.

01

Website over HTTPS

We make one HTTPS request to your homepage and record the status code and how long the server took to answer.

Why it matters. If the homepage errors or times out, every visitor and every search crawler sees the same thing. It is the first thing to check when someone says your site is down.

02

SSL certificate

The certificate your server presents: who issued it, which names it covers, whether browsers trust it, and when it expires.

Why it matters. An expired or mismatched certificate puts a full-page security warning in front of your site, and most visitors will not click past it. Automatic renewal fails more often than people expect.

What we do - and don't

A light touch.

  • One HTTPS request to the homepage. No crawling, no port scanning, no load testing.
  • Private and internal network addresses are never contacted.
  • Results are kept for 24 hours so you can share the link. We do not record who ran the check.
